About Os Der Elsker Film
Os Der Elsker Film wants to remind young consumers that there are many good reasons to watch films legally — and only bad excuses for not doing so. In this way, the campaign aims to strengthen the sense of community among all young Danes who love films.
“Ulovlig Streaming Koster” is the third campaign from Os Der Elsker Film. The first campaign hit cinema screens in 2016.
Figures from the survey
- One in five Danes (21%) aged 15–25 has streamed films and series illegally within the past month.
- Nearly one in three (32%) has been hacked themselves – or knows someone who has – due to illegal streaming.
- Half of young Danes do not consider that illegal sites are run by criminal operators.
- Almost two out of three (64%) young people lack information about when it is legal or illegal to stream and download films and series.
- Half (51%) believe that education on rights should be included in school curricula.

Ulovlig Streaming Koster
In 2025, Os Der Elsker Film was relaunched with the campaign “Ulovlig Streamin Koster,” which raises the question: What are you willing to pay to watch films and series illegally? While it is well known that illegal streaming harms the Danish film and TV industry, many overlook the personal consequences that come with it.
Illegal streaming can end up being very costly on a personal level. In fact, so costly that private information such as photos, passwords, or banking details can fall into the hands of criminals simply by clicking on an illegal website offering films.
“Ulovlig Streaming Koster” uses a hidden camera prank, where actor Jesper Ole, disguised as a cinema employee, offers guests free tickets. However, the joy quickly turns to surprise when they are asked to pay with private passwords, social media login information, or banking details. The campaign aims to make young people consider who is really behind what they click on, at a time when hacking and identity theft have become part of everyday digital life.
The campaign targets young people aged 15–25. A survey conducted by Norstat in 2025 shows that just over one in five young people have illegally streamed films and series in the past month, thereby putting their digital security at risk. The survey also shows that one in three young people have experienced being hacked – or know someone who has.
With this campaign, the entire film industry, along with a number of key organizations and authorities, joins together in a unified effort to combat illegal streaming in Denmark.
Behind Os Der Elsker Film: “Ulovlig Streaming Koster” is the Rights Alliance, and the campaign is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Det Danske Filminstitut, Producent Rettigheder Danmark, Nordisk Film Biografer, and Kinopalæet in Lyngby.
