TRAIN is supported by The Ministry of Culture and Dreyers Fond.

Who’s behind?

The program is organized in association with Copydan and Gyldendal/Hans Reitzels Forlag, who specializes in academic books and who has a close collaboration with the educational system, which ensures, that our material meets the target group and works in practice.

Learning and education require that new knowledge is created and that digital content must be used with respect and consideration. The Rights Alliance wants to contribute to knowledge about rights becoming a natural part of teaching in Danish primary schools, which is why we have collaborated with Copydan and Hans Reitzels Forlag on an information project on education, learning and copyright for student teachers and teachers.

The project can be used by student teachers at university colleges across the country and by teachers who would like more insight into the course topics.

This will give future primary school teachers the tools to communicate the importance of rights to their future students and promote the legal consumption of digital content.

The course has three tracks:

1: Learning video on education, teaching and copyright

Through a conversation video, the teacher students will learn more about the connection between education, copyright and teaching. This is done through a conversation between publishing editor Henrik Juul from Reitzels Forlag, educational thinker and Associate Professor of Education Keld Skovmand, Maria Fredenslund from RettighedsAlliancen and Dennis Johansen from CopyDan, who explains how learning, education and copyright are connected and how to use cultural content in teaching.

The educational video is based on the concept of education, which has become increasingly important in teaching, and from here it clarifies the need for respect for rights and especially why the importance of including the meaning of rights in education is important. The conversation video also explains the opportunities that the contract licensing system offers future primary school teachers to communicate creative content to their students.

2: Workshops at university colleges

Throughout 2022-2024, RettighedsAlliancen, CopyDan AVU and Hans Reitzels Forlag have held workshops for teacher students at university colleges across the country. At these workshops, knowledge about basic copyright and the importance of rights in a societal context has been presented, and it has been discussed how they as future primary school teachers can introduce their students to rights and their importance.

CEO of RettighedsAlliancen, Maria Fredenslund, briefly explains what copyright is and why it is so important.

A compendium and presentation material have been prepared for use in the workshops. The material is designed so that teachers of future student teachers will be able to use the material without the participation of the Rights Alliance.

The compendium can be used by both student teachers and current primary school teachers to gain basic knowledge about copyright and the possibilities offered by the Danish contractual licensing system if you want to show audiovisual content in teaching.

3. Participation at Lærfest 2024

Lærfest is a large physical professional and sales fair about schools, teaching materials and good teaching. Among other things, the fair gives teachers insight into new teaching aids and ways to enrich and develop teaching in primary and secondary schools. The program is therefore represented at this year’s Lær Festival in March 2024 to highlight the project by promoting the learning video, compendium, presentation material and workshops, and to inspire people to work with the importance of rights in teaching.
