Rights Alliance’s foremost task is to ensure fair and safe business conditions for the creative industry on the Internet. Our work is based on more than 10 years of experience – experience that has enabled us to develop an effective system through a unique insight into the combination of law, digital dynamics and human motivational factors.
The Rigths Alliance has three main areas of focus:
- We focus on the legal market by promoting legal services and content, as well as stressing the value of the culture around them and further by putting the terms of the legal market on the political agenda.
- We work communicatively and user-oriented by making the legal choice the easy choice, and by making users aware of the risks and consequences of illegal usage.
- In parallel with this, we have a strong focus on the illegal market and the organized crime that is behind it. With political and legal measures, we are hampering traffic and cash flow to the illegal services and take legal proceedings against the criminal offenders behind.
The synergy between the three areas of focus is the most effective tool for limiting the illegal market on online platforms and is the foundation of all Rights Alliance’s activities. Our goal is to ensure that individuals can navigate safely and legally on the Internet. This means that we go after the criminals, i.e. the criminals who systematically exploit the Internet’s dynamics and opportunities to infringe rights. At the same time, we have an approach to the user, which is based on recognizing that people are far more controlled by needs, feelings and habits than most people realize. We choose the easy accessible and most often do what we use to – also on the Internet. Therefore, we combine information with behavioural design and small pushes that ensures that the easy choice is the good, safe and legal choice.
However, in order to succeed in behaviour-changing initiatives and projects, strong collaborations across relevant parties and authorities are essential. This is why Rights Alliance has for many years formed the basis for collaborations between both private and public actors – collaborations that have proven effective in preventing online copyright infringement. And it is our ability in Denmark of collaborations across industries that has positioned Denmark as a pioneer in the field of copyright, and Rights Alliance as experts in limiting the illegal market.

A significant part of Rights Alliance’s work consists of informing Internet users about when something is, respectively, legally and illegally.
