Consumer survey on Danes buying copies of Danish design classics

This analysis, conducted by Norstat for the Rights Alliance, examines Danes’ acquisition of copies of Danish design classics. The study shows that 19% have a copy of a design classic in their home.
The analysis is funded by Dreyers Fond, Træets Uddannelses- og Udviklingsfond, the Danish Ministry of Culture and UBVA (Akademikerne) as part of the campaign ‘ Støt Originalt Dansk Design’.
Report on AI model providers’ training data transparency and enforcement of copyrights

Study on Danes’ knowledge, use and attitudes towards music created by artificial intelligence

This analysis, conducted by Norstat for the Rights Alliance, examines Danes’ attitudes towards artificial intelligence and music. Among other things, the analysis shows that 82% of respondents believe that man-made music is more valuable than AI-generated music.

Economic impact of digital textbook piracy

This analysis, carried out by the consulting firm CphFacilitation, investigates the consequences of piracy of digital textbooks targeted at higher education. The analysis shows that the book industry and the government estimated to have lost DKK 225 million in 2022, due to piracy of digital textbooks. An amount equivalent to 31 % of the total annual value of the textbook market.
Student acquisition of textbooks

This report, conducted by Epinion for the Rights Alliance, examines the development in illegal sharing of digital textbooks among students. Among other things, the study shows that despite the fact that students know that it is illegal, they still find it highly acceptable to share digital textbooks with friends and fellow students.
Report: Development of Dialogue Forum

This report uncovers opportunities for expanding the Dialogue Forum with new potential areas and actors, as well as developing the use of the collaboration list, aimed at enhancing the impact of the Dialogue Forum’s purpose to cut off funding and traffic to illegal services. Rights Alliance’s submission on combating piracy of live content

Report on Share With Care 2

Rights Alliance’s report takes stock on the Share With Care 2 collaboration and highlights the effects the collaboration has had on the extent of illegal behaviour on the Internet. Among other things. the report shows that the focus on the combination of blocking the illegal services and the promotion of the legal ones has had a clear, positive effect, with approx. 70-75 percent of the visitors to the FilmFinder.dk search engine come from blocked services. With Share With Care 2, FilmFinder.dk was integrated into the blocking signs on illegal services.

Therefore, in collaboration with Rights Alliance, the flyer “Why originals?” was launched, which informs and guides users to choose original design over illegal copies, while also equipping dealers and others to better answer relevant questions about the difference between originals and copies and the consequences of buying the copies.

In this consultation, Rights Alliance announces its position on the Council of Ministers’ proposal for a new Safe Harbor rule for Online Content Sharing Service Providers, such as YouTube and Vimeo. The Rights Alliance believes that such a rule will not give the rights holders better control over their works on the platforms, but that it will only help to emphasize their discharge. Instead, an increased focus on the platforms’ own responsibility for enforcement is suggested.

Impact measurement on website blockings in Denmark

Rights Alliance continuously collects data showing Danes’ visits to illegal online services that make movies and TV shows available without the consent of the rights holders. This memorandum provides insight into data on Danes’ use of illegal services as well as data on the effect of website blockings, which, i.a., shows an average decrease in visitor numbers of 75 percent.

This handbook is a compilation of the key lessons learned from the first few years of the Share With Care campaign.
